Engineering observation
Define inputs, permissions, receipts and failure handling separately for knowledge retrieval and business actions. A retrieved fragment answers what was found. Changing a record, sending a notification or controlling equipment also requires a defined authority, operation and way to confirm the result.
A development boundary illustrated by document tools
The author's context-mode repository discusses tool output, context management and retrieval, providing background for a document-processing chain. The permission categories below are engineering recommendations for requirements review. Design the actual authorization against the client system and interface documentation.
The local vector knowledge base case, in Chinese provides a public reference for document processing, source retrieval and member permissions. When connecting these functions to business systems, define query, modification and notification responsibilities separately. Document visibility does not automatically grant business-operation rights.
Acceptance for four requirement types
Swipe the table horizontally to view all columns.
| Requirement | Inputs and outputs | Permission and check focus |
|---|---|---|
| Document retrieval | Documents, question, source fragment and position | Visibility, versions and citation correspondence |
| Business query | Interface, conditions and returned fields | Read-only identity, field scope, timeouts and audit |
| Data changes | Target record, changes and result | Modification rights, confirmation, duplicate requests and recovery |
| External actions | Recipient or target, parameters and receipt | Authority, human confirmation, failures and traceability |
Fields for an interface review
Select one independently testable action and define the following fields. They are requirement-review fields, not evidence that the client system has already granted access.
Swipe the table horizontally to view all columns.
| Field | Definition needed |
|---|---|
| Actor and target | User role, identity and target system or device |
| Operation scope | Read, modify or notify; allowed data and targets |
| Preconditions | Inputs, permission, confirmation and runtime |
| Success decision | Result fields, business state or device receipt to check |
| Failure handling | Timeouts, duplicates, partial success, cancellation and recovery ownership |
| Records and material | Logs, sensitive fields, source location and retention rules |
Choosing the first phase
Identify actual roles, documents, systems and actions. Start with source location or read-only cases before reviewing writes and notifications. Cover normal use, missing permission, incomplete input and an unavailable dependency. Agree error codes, confirmation points and recovery against the real interface.
Check third-party versions, licenses, data flows and runtime. Tool descriptions, sandbox demonstrations and production rights require separate review. Provide document types, roles, interfaces and actions through the knowledge base and permission-aware retrieval development service, in Chinese to discuss module deliverables and acceptance.
